Description
Abstract: Unphysical artifacts are ubiquitous in plasma simulation.
These effects can range from “cosmetic” matters that can safely be
ignored to phenomena that can lead to erroneous physical interpreta-
tions. We will discuss various examples, their causes and (potential)
mitigations. In addition, we will look at methods for constructing simulation models that preclude some classes of artifacts entirely.
